Koreografijo in koncept podpisujeta Magdalena Mannion in Noemí Luz, britansko-španska plesna zasedba, v sodelovanju z britanskim skladateljem elektronike Nickom Rothwellom (Cassiel).
Njuno delo ni podrejeno običajnim stereotipom flamenka, temveč raziskuje potencial te mogočne in dinamične umetnosti skozi različne umetniške discipline in kulturne kontekste.

Blue Ghost is a contemporary flamenco performance that, through movement and sound, invites the audience into the world of the blue firefly – a rare insect whose light sparks reflection on the fragility of the natural world. In this work, the creative duo Luz & Mannion Dance redefine the form of flamenco, embarking on a sensorial journey of light shaped through breath-taking movement and live electronic music. Out of this interplay emerges a narrative about the invisible, the seemingly insignificant, yet ultimately essential. Blue Ghost is a poignant reminder of the role, beauty, and profound importance of even the smallest of beings within our shared ecosystem.
The choreography and concept are by Magdalena Mannion and Noemí Luz, the British–Spanish duo at the heart of Luz & Mannion Dance Company, in collaboration with British electronic composer Nick Rothwell (Cassiel). Created with a desire to engage ecological questions, the work was also developed in partnership with insect conservation organisations Xerces and Buglife UK. The company has performed at Sadler’s Wells, The Lowry, and the National Theatre in London. Their work further includes the project In Body, Sadler’s Wells’ digital festival Dancing Nation (BBC iPlayer), and numerous international tours.
𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝗡𝗼𝗲𝗺𝗶́ 𝗟𝘂𝘇 are acclaimed British–Spanish dancers and choreographers who have co-directed Luz & Mannion Dance Company since 2017. Working across the traditional, contemporary, and experimental spectrums of flamenco, they perform internationally as creators, educators, and interpreters. Recognized as authors and performers within leading European institutions such as Sadler’s Wells in London, they are celebrated for bringing inquisitive and innovative voices to the field of contemporary flamenco.
Their artistic practice resists the familiar stereotypes of flamenco, instead exploring the potential of this powerful and dynamic art form across artistic disciplines and cultural contexts. While honouring its traditions, they extend its boundaries, embrace open approaches, and create diverse, relevant, and thought-provoking artistic projects. They understand flamenco as a nuanced, energetic, and poetic language, and as a multifaceted tool of self-reflection and identity – one that speaks to both the individual and the collective. Their work is inspired by an ongoing dialogue between British and Spanish cultures and fuelled by a spirit of curiosity and openness towards interdisciplinary collaboration.

𝗡𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗼 is a contemporary flamenco cycle dedicated to exploring this art form through interdisciplinary performance. Centred on the live interplay of music and dance, it also encompasses an accompanying programme of educational and theoretical events. The cycle builds intercultural bridges between international and local artists, fostering dialogue between flamenco practice and other musical genres, and presenting new creative approaches to music, dance, and performance. Since its inception in 2017, Noches de tablao has provided a stage for the most current projects that transcend genre boundaries and showcase a broad spectrum of contemporary forms of expression. Its programme unfolds through concerts and dance performances where tradition enters into inspiring alliances with innovation.
