Join us for this two-hour presentation about Long Exposure Photography. Making a typical photograph is usually less than one-second long exposure. Landscape photographers often adjust their exposure to gain an exposure longer than one full second to allow water falling over a waterfall or cascade to blur the water and soften the image. Water tends to look more natural when moving, so high shutter speeds are seldom aesthetically effective. This technique is also effective when photographing clouds. Learn about the use of a 3, 5, 7 or 10 stop neutral density filter to create a “blur the water” effect. Learn about the cell phone apps to recalculate the correct exposure after placing a ND filter on your lens combined with proper tripod use.
