Summer LINKS Art: Farm and Field
This summer, LINKS for Learning partnered with The Art Room East to provide students with hands-on art lessons. Three times a week, young artists walked to the Shane Center to create alongside local artist Susannah Robertson, exploring her summer theme: Farm and Field. This partnership was made possible through a grant from the Montana Arts Council, designed to provide social-emotional learning opportunities for students through creative expression. The Summer LINKS Art Program integrates problem-solving, visual arts education, and social-emotional learning into every class. Through meaningful, hands-on experiences, students were able to explore self-expression, build confidence, strengthen critical thinking skills, and develop healthy ways to express themselves. This program empowers children to think creatively, connect with others, and engage deeply in their learning, both in and beyond the classroom.
We are excited to celebrate their creativity with a special student art gallery. The pieces will be thoughtfully displayed, giving students the experience of seeing their work showcased for the community, just like professional artists. Join us as we honor the imagination and talent of our LINKSters and the beauty they discovered in Farm and Field.
