In this class, you’ll embark on an inspiring journey, crafting an exquisite piece of silver jewellery set with your own hand-polished Australian opal. The item you make could range from an enchanting pendant to a distinctive ring, using traditional silversmithing methods.
What you will learn:
We start the class with the unique experience of cutting and polishing your very own Australian opal. After this initial stage, we’ll guide you to create a bezel setting for your opal using traditional techniques such as shaping the silver, filing, soldering and polishing. In the final step, you’ll enjoy the satisfaction of setting your shiny opal in your piece, all done in the good old fashioned way - no glue involved!
The Noctua team will be there for you at each stage of this immersive craft project, offering support, expertise, and teaching the necessary techniques as you independently create your unique silver jewellery. You can select from our exceptional range of Australian opals on the day of the class.
