Iceland’s volcanic Geysir is a force of nature – an unstoppable blast of supercharged energy. You could say the same for composer and clarinettist Mark Simpson, and today Liverpool Philharmonic's Artist in Residence leads his own all-star wind ensemble in a programme that begins with that elemental explosion, and ends with the single greatest piece ever written for 13 wind players.
