The Curated Swap is a clothes swap for good quality high street brands and independent labels. Fast fashion isn’t allowed, but promise — there’s zero judgment here. The quality and ethics of fast fashion mean responsible, sustainable clothing is not a priority. The Curated Swap is about encouraging people to see the value and longevity in good quality second hand clothing.
At the next event, you can book a colour analysis with Rachel, so you can be confident you'll be coming away with clothing that suits your skin tone. Tickets are limited and can be booked in addition to your swap ticket (you can also book for a colour analysis only, with no obligation to clothes swap).
You'll also be able to shop the most unreal secondhand, luxury bags from Katie at Maru Mcr. You won’t want to miss this!
Just a few points on the clothes swap itself below and please do carry on reading, even if you have attended before. The guidelines have been updated to ensure everyone comes away with something special.
- Drop off is from 1pm and the swap will start at 1.30pm. You can drop off after 1.30pm and the event will finish at 4pm.
- Clothing will be checked over on arrival and added to the rails.
- Bring a minimum of 1 item (maximum 5 items). Your items will be checked over on arrival and you will receive a token for every item you bring. Items must be clean and in very good condition – no stains, tears, rips and please ensure zips and other fastenings are all in good working order.
- Please bring along Preloved items that are in excellent condition, of a high quality and ready to find a new home.
- The are two types of tokens - one for high street and one for higher end. High street will be defined as anything with a physical store.
- Bring seasonally relevant clothing - no Christmas partywear, sequins and no shorts, short sleeve t shirts, beach dresses or linen.
- Fast Fashion need not apply! There are so many fantastic outlets for second hand fast fashion brands but please leave clothing from these brands at home (Zara, Pretty Little Thing, Boohoo, H&M, Shein, Primark, Mango, Next, River Island, Missguided, I Saw it First, In the Style, Uniqlo, Monki, F&F and supermarket brands). Please get in touch if you're unsure which brands are fast fashion.
- Examples of but by no means the only brands allowed - &Other Stories, Whistles, All Saints, Ganni, M&S, COS, Arket, Reformation, Nobody's Child, Mint Velvet, Reiss, Aligne, Levis and many more. If you are not sure please message me. This is an inclusive swap and everyone is welcome! As a guideline, Ganni/Reformation/Rixo have been the most premium brands available but these pieces go quickly!
- Please be aware that the selection of brands is dependent on what people bring on the day and a like for like swap can not be guaranteed. Luxury, designer and high end brands are not recommended.
- Please do not bring an old t shirt, just because it has a good label. Before choosing items to bring to the swap, ask if you would be happy to receive the same item as a gift from a friend.
- Adult sized clothing only. All sizes very, very welcome!
- Please no hoarding whilst swapping! Please carry a maximum of 5 items at a time.
- No underwear, nightwear, handbags shoes socks or real fur.
Please get in touch if you have any questions at all. I know a list of Ts&Cs aren't the most fun thing to read but it's important everyone coming along has the same expectations.
Really looking forward to seeing you there!
