Creative Memory Box Workshop
Join us for a gentle, creative session that offers space to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences around death, dying, and loss in an open and supportive way.
Led by Viki Whaley , Principal Lecturer Undergraduate Nursing, the workshop uses reflective prompts, shared creative artefacts, and friendly guided conversation to help us look at some of the cultural and societal “taboos” surrounding death—topics that are often quietly pushed aside in clinical education and everyday life.
All materials will be provided, and you’re welcome to bring along any personal items you might like to include in your memory box. Through simple creative activities such as drawing or poetry, you’ll have the chance to reflect on what we often don’t talk about, and why those silences remain.
The workshop aims to offer a warm, relaxed environment where curiosity is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and conversations about end‑of‑life experiences feel a little less daunting. It’s a chance to gently challenge societal norms, build self‑awareness, and grow confidence in engaging with end‑of‑life conversations—one creative moment at a time.
