Our June screening falls just before Lismore's beloved Lantern Parade, so what better way to mark the season than with a classic folk horror with a fiery finale. The Wicker Man.

In this legendary 1973 British film, a devout police officer is sent to a remote island to investigate the disappearance of a young girl, but the townspeople claim she never existed. The deeper he digs, the stranger things become. Fruit festivals, maypoles, folk songs, and a community with secrets of its own.
Often called the greatest British horror film of all time, The Wicker Man is a genre-defining classic full of mystery, atmosphere, and one of the most talked-about endings in cinema.
