Go Figure – A Celebration of the Human Form
The Serpentine Community Art Gallery is proud to present Go Figure, a dynamic and evocative group exhibition exploring the infinite ways artists represent, reimagine and are inspired with the human form.
Opening Friday 11 July from 5:30pm–8:30pm, Go Figure invites the community to celebrate the body not just as subject, but as symbol — as site of memory, movement, identity and imagination.
As a motif, the human form is universal. It crosses cultural barriers and can embody a limitless spectrum of metaphor — from the deeply personal to the boldly political. The exhibition features work by an exciting mix of local, emerging and established artists working across painting, drawing, mixed media and sculpture.
“In a time of digital disembodiment and curated identities, Go Figure brings us back to the raw, the real, and the tender mess of being human,” says curator Steve Giese.
Expect diversity in style, scale and interpretation — from classical echoes to contemporary abstraction — but always anchored in that most enduring subject: The human form.
Go Figure runs from Friday 11th July to 19th July at the Serpentine Community Art Gallery. The public is warmly invited to the opening event, with refreshments, live music and a chance to meet the artists.
