Irish Percussive Dance Workshop

The Bluegrass Ceili Academy, Lexington’s award-winning community Irish dance school, will offer a free Irish percussive dance workshop Saturday, July 12, at Artworks at the Tates Creek Ballroom, 1400 Gainesway Drive. The workshop will include instruction in sean-nós style Irish dancing, ceili dancing and traditional hard-shoe set dancing.

The full workshop schedule for Saturday, July 12, 2025:

9-9:30 a.m. Registration
9:30-9:45 a.m. Warm-up and stretch
9:45-10:30 a.m. Introduction to Irish hard shoe dancing
(Beginner/Intermediate level, all ages)
10:30-10:45 a.m. Break
10:45 a.m.-noon Ceili dancing (all ages and levels)
Noon-1 p.m. Lunch break
1-2:30 p.m. Sean-nós dancing (Intermediate/Advanced level)
2:30-2:45 p.m. Break
3-4:30 p.m. Traditional hardshoe Irish sets (Intermediate/Advanced level)
