Emiquon 25th Anniversary Science Day -- Macroinvertibrates in the Wetlands

Led by University of Illinois Springfield’s Therkildsen Field Station at Emiquon and staff from The Nature Conservancy, you’ll sample macroinvertebrates in the wetlands, sort and identify findings under a microscope in the lab and discover how these tiny creatures help us understand the health of aquatic ecosystems.

This hands-on, half-day program is for high school students and adults. Waders, sampling equipment and lab equipment are provided. Participants must provide their own transportation between the field station and preserve.
