Lewiston Civic Theatre Presents: Oklahoma! Directed by Dan Sharkey.
The groundbreaking musical that set the stage for all that followed! Rodgers & Hammerstein's exuberant classic is a lively, tuneful musical full of cowboys, farmers, romance and fearless optimism.
About the Show: In a Western territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful background for Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, to play out their love story. Their romantic journey, as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road, contrasts with the comic exploits of brazen Ado Annie and hapless Will Parker in a musical adventure embracing hope, determination and the promise of a new land.
About the Team: We are excited to welcome our guest director and Broadway actor Dan Sharkey, whose credits include Bridges of Madison County, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark!, Escape to Margaritaville, and Amazing Grace. He also has been involved in theatre in Montana with Missoula Children’s Theatre. Our choreographer, Becky Elizabeth Stout, has been involved in productions like Follies, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and is also a Radio City Rockette. Her husband, Todd MacIntyre, our musical director has performed everywhere from Tokyo Disney, the Kennedy Center and on stage in musicals like The Scarlet Pimpernel and She Loves Me. Shelly Renzelman is our conductor of our live orchestra for this production.
