Our guest speaker for our August Wisdom of the Ages is Breathin Heathen. Breathin Heathen embarked upon a journey beginning in 2008 to learn about pranayama, the yogic techniques of breathing. He discovered that increased health, productivity, mindfulness and manifestation were just corporate buzzwords meant to sterilize and gentrify the true work of the Magickal Breath. He set off from Kelowna, BC, and spent four years of his life traveling throughout Asia, from staying Buddhist temples and meeting with Mudang in South Korea, spending years learning shamanic and animistic drumming, to studying at a meditation village in Thailand, enrolling in a pratyahara and pranayama intensive in Rishikesh, India, and doing fire dance with fire walkers in the Philippines. Breathin frequently travels to East Africa to learn about spiritual traditions dating back to the early centuries of the cradle of civilization.
