VJ Day 80 - Remembrance event, Lerwick

A Remembrance event will take place at Hillhead, Lerwick on Friday 15th August at 11am to mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War on 15 August 1945.

On Friday, the parade of Colours will depart Fort Charlotte from 10.40am. After two minutes silence at 11am, wreaths will then be laid at the County War Memorial.

Members of the public are invited to gather from 10.40am.

A road closure will be in place on King Erik Street, Market Street and Upper Hillhead from 10.30am until 11.30am.
