On Sunday, August 3rd, The Mahoning Drive-In Theater and Buffalo Bill’s House present a 35mm screening of Jonathan Demme’s SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (1991), one of the most terrifying crime thrillers of the 90s!
Jodie Foster stars as Clarice Starling, an FBI agent tracking a serial killer, known as Buffalo Bill (for reasons we won’t get into here), racing against time before he takes his next victim, with the help of notorious serial killer and mental manipulator Hannibal Lechter, in an unforgettably creepy performance by Anthony Hopkins. With Scott Glen, Ted Levine, Tracey Walter and Charles Napier.
Winner of five Academy Awards – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay, and spawning several sequels and a TV series based on the film and works of author Thomas Harris, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is top-notch terror fare, nowhere better seen than on the big, BIG screen!
As a special treat, Buffalo Bill’s House in Perryopolis, PA, shooting location of the serial killer’s home in the film (which actually offers overnight stays for superfans), will be displaying props from the film and adding a bit of décor to our lot for the night!
See the film that put fava beans back on the map!
