Big news! After a blazing 108° day tomorrow, Sunday’s temps are expected to drop into the 60s at our destination and during the hike—a serious desert miracle and perfect weather for the Middle Fork of Taylor Creek. You’ll definitely want to bring a long-sleeved shirt just in case—it’s a refreshing break from the usual heat!
The trail is a real treat—about half the drive to Brian Head, with plenty of shade, a peaceful creek to wander alongside, and nicely sheltered from wind and sun. It’s roughly five miles round trip and rated moderate—just enough to stretch your legs and soak up some fresh air.
No dogs allowed, and each car will need a federal parks pass. We’ll meet at The Outpost in Leeds (yep, where Mainly Pizza is) at 9:30 AM to carpool. No fancy vehicles needed, but let’s keep the car count low since parking is limited.
After the hike, we’ll head back to Mainly Pizza to refuel on some of the best wings around—seriously, they’re worth the trip alone.
So bring your layers, your good vibes, and your appetite—Sunday’s shaping up to be a cool, delicious desert escape. See you there!
