Juneteenth Picnic in the Park

Enjoy live music, art and history at the Juneteenth Picnic in the Park!

🎨 ArtScape Lebanon is hosting a local artist showcase featuring Jaida Chenault during the event. Jaida is a self-taught artist studying marine biology at the University of Cincinnati.

🎷 Listen to live music from the Lebanon Jazz Band from 5-6:30 pm

📖 Learn about Samuel Robert Bailey, the first African American teacher and principal in the public schools of Lebanon, from local historian John Zimkus. Listen as John details S.R. Bailey’s story about how he escaped slavery to Ohio.

MLK Lebanon is offering a free screening of “Juneteenth,” produced by the Annenberg Institute for Civics at the University of Pennsylvania. This 30-minute film dives deeper into the history of Juneteenth. The screening will start at 7 pm at the Lebanon Theatre Company.

Grab a treat from the Lebanon Farmers Market (4-7 pm) or your favorite carry-out meal from a downtown restaurant and enjoy live music, art and history at the Juneteenth Picnic in the Park.
