Cannonball Cabaret is holding open auditions! We’re looking for 3-4 new dancers! Auditions will be held at Hip Expressions Belly Dance Studio.
Option 1: May 18th, 3:30-4:30pm
Option 2: May 20th, 7:30-8:30pm
(Regular rehearsal time is currently 7:30-9:30 every Monday but will be switching to Wednesdays 6:30-8:30 starting in July)
Requirements:
-Some dance and performance experience required: Jazz, modern, music theater, belly dance, or other forms of dance training. Open to all sorts of movers & shakers!
-Must be 21+ years old
-Able to dance in 2-3 inch heels & learn choreography
-Must be available for weekly rehearsals as well as some occasional extra rehearsals and showtimes (all scheduled well in advance & we try to work with everyone’s schedules as much as possible). Regular rehearsal time is currently Monday 7:30-9:30 but will be switching to Wednesday 6:30-8:30 starting in July.
-Rehearsal takes place at a Crunch Fitness Center. We have some ability to get guests in but a basic membership may be needed
How to prepare:
-Fill out Google Docs submission form at least 24 hours prior to the audition
-Choreograph a 45-60 second dance/movement solo (due to time constraints, do not go over 60 seconds.)
What to expect:
-Meet and Greet
-Perform self-choreographed solo
-Learn a short section of our choreo
-Wear comfortable workout clothes
Additional info:
-There is no participation fee but we also do not pay for rehearsals
-Shows are paid out based on profits
-Some investment in shoes & base costume may be required, however, we have tons of costumes to share as you build your wardrobe
