From Australia to Unbound: An Evening with Pro Gravel Racer Sophie Byrne

Sophie Byrne, a professional gravel racer from Ballarat, Victoria (Australia), is making her way to Kansas this May to take on the toughest gravel race in the world: The Unbound.

We're thrilled to welcome Sophie to Lawrence for a special evening at the shop, where she’ll share her story, her journey through the world of elite gravel racing in Australia, and her plans for conquering the 2025 Unbound.

"In May, I'll be heading to America to race some of the world’s premier gravel events , including the legendary Unbound 200 in Emporia, Kansas, as well as Steamboat Gravel and Apex Gravel. These events bring together a world-class field, and I’m beyond thrilled to be part of them.

Unfortunately, the start of 2025 has been quite challenging for me. I was involved in a bad accident with a kangaroo in Adelaide, which has significantly impacted my ability to save and work for this trip. Despite this setback, I’m still highly motivated and incredibly excited to race in America and give it my all."
