Training Description:

This transformative 6-hour training invites social workers to explore ethics through the lens of courage, vulnerability, cultural humility, and social justice using *The Daring Way™*, the evidence-based model developed by Dr. Brené Brown.

Participants will examine how personal values, shame resilience, and wholeheartedness intersect with ethical decision-making in social work practice. The training blends hands-on activities using sandtrays, reflective journaling, video clips from *The Daring Way™*, and small-group discussions to deepen self-awareness and professional insight.


Social workers will leave this training with renewed clarity around boundaries, professional integrity, and the ethical use of self—all while building skills in vulnerability and cultural responsiveness.


Learning Objectives:

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Define and apply the core concepts of The Daring Way™** to ethical practice in social work.

2. Identify how shame, vulnerability, and empathy** impact decision-making and boundary-setting with clients.

3. Anslyze the relationship between cultural humility and ethical action in diverse clinical settings.

4. in sandtray and expressive activities to reflect on values, power, and professional identity.

5. Analyze real-world ethical dilemmas through the lens of courage, cultural responsiveness, and social justice.

6. List personalized strategies for integrating wholehearted practice and ethical standards into everyday social work.
