A Creative Writing Course for 6th-12th graders
Calling all creative writers! In this engaging and inspiring writing course, young storytellers will stretch their writing skills, craft personal narratives, and tell fictional stories that leap off the page. Each day includes hands-on writing prompts, guided mini-lessons, and time to write and share both fiction and non-fiction stories in a supportive, encouraging environment. Students will explore the building blocks of good storytelling—and have fun doing it!
Adult Class:
A Memoir Course for Adults with a Story to Tell
Everyone has a story worth telling. In this creative nonfiction writing workshop for adults, we’ll explore personal stories, memories, and moments that have shaped us. Whether you’re drawn to memoir, reflective essays, or poetic storytelling, this course will guide you through the process of finding your voice and putting truth on the page.
Through guided prompts, short lessons, and supportive workshop time, you’ll learn how to craft meaningful scenes, draw readers in with emotion and detail, and tell the story only you can tell. No experience required—just a willingness to show up with a pen and a little courage.
Taught by a published memoirist and experienced writing teacher, this is a perfect space to begin or continue your writing journey.

Instructor Bio:
Christina Herr is a seasoned reading and writing teacher, published author, and lifelong lover of stories. With over 15 years of experience and a M.Ed in literacy instruction, Christina brings warmth, encouragement, and expert guidance to every classroom she leads. She believes everyone has a story worth telling.
Christina is the author of the memoir “Good Mourning: Finding Hope and Healing After Losing a Loved One.” She creates supportive spaces where writers of all ages can explore their creativity, find their voice, and discover the joy and healing process of putting thoughts and feelings into words.
When she's not teaching or writing, you'll likely find her at her family-owned arcade and axe-throwing business, spending time with her husband and three children, or curled up with a good book.
