Bats of Greylock

Join us during Bat Week (October 24-31) to learn about the bats of Mount Greylock. Explore the crucial role that this amazing mammal plays in our ecosystem and the recent threats that have driven many species close to extinction. The evening begins with a presentation in the Visitor Center followed by a night walk to listen for bats using an echo-meter bat detector and observe their behavior at dusk.

Dr. Laura Hancock, an ecology & wildlife researcher, will contribute her expertise to the presentation and our outdoor bat exploration. Dr. Hancock is a visiting professor at the Mass. College of Liberal Arts.

FREE for all ages.
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Program duration up to 2 hours. Meet at the Mount Greylock Visitor Center, 30 Rockwell Road, Lanesborough. Bring sturdy shoes & a flashlight.
