Dr. Heggs officially joined the Price Elementary community on June 6, bringing with her a wealth of experience in education and a deep commitment to student achievement.
She served as assistant principal at Traice Academy Middle and High School in Tulsa Public Schools. A former English Language Arts teacher, Dr. Heggs has taught in both public and private schools across New Jersey and Tennessee, served as a teacher leader and administrator in North Carolina, and co-directed the River City Partnership, an innovative training program for first-year teachers at the University of Memphis, where she earned her doctorate in education, leadership, and policy studies.
Throughout her career, Dr. Heggs has been recognized for her thoughtful leadership, data-driven decision-making, and strong instructional focus. These were among the many qualities that impressed us and affirmed she was the right fit for Price.
Our meet-and-greet event will offer families, students, staff and the entire community the opportunity to get to know Dr. Heggs and learn more about her vision for our school.
Her warmth and dedication to equity and excellence were evident from the start and we are confident she will build on Price’s strong foundation to lead our school into an exciting new chapter.
