The Kurākāni Kollective is a relaxed, after-work conversation series brought to you by Impact447 and The Governance Lab. Inspired by the Nepali word kurākāni, meaning meaningful conversation, this series is designed to be a space for honest dialogue, shared reflections, and genuine connections.
This won't be your typical event. No panels. No PowerPoints. No performative polish. Just one speaker, an audience, and one hour to dive deep—followed by time to hang out and connect informally.
Created for those in Nepal’s development and humanitarian sectors, it’s a space to break free from the usual meetings and reports to discuss the topics that often go unspoken. Together, we’ll explore questions around failure, power, equity, justice, and what it truly means to create lasting impact.

For our first talk, we have the pleasure of hosting, Bahar Kumar and Abhishek Jha.
Bahar is a Coach, Facilitator, and Abhishek is a legal expert. Both are self-described Concerned Member of the World. They will be exploring how Nepali private donors can be mobilized to advance social justice through strategic investment. In this talk, they will present the idea of creating a "laboratory for social change philanthropy," leveraging the power of community organizers, activists, and allies to drive transformative change.
Don’t miss this thought-provoking session on reimagining philanthropy to shape a more just and equitable future.
Also check out other Meetups in Lalitpur.
Tickets for Kurākāni Kollective #1: Funding the Future with Bahar and Abhishek can be booked here.
