Marcus Smith & The Rapscallions:
Marcus Smith is a rapper, singer/songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Cleveland, OH. In 2021, Smith became one of the first Artists In Residence at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. That same year, he was featured on multi-platinum rapper, Asher Roth’s album ‘The Greenhouse Effect vol. 3’. In June of 2023, Marcus released his sophomore album, ‘Unique Mélange’. The title is a perfect description of the body of work as Marcus pulls influence from many different genres and a range of influences including Gym Class Heroes, Lenny Kravitz, and Childish Gambino. The album’s singles include the UK Garage style “She Don’t Care”, the Alternative Hip-Hop “Day After Day”, “Sandwiches” a Hip-Hop/Rock fusion ode to everyone’s favorite lunch food, and “Coppertone” a tragically beautiful blend of Rap/Rock. Marcus Smith was voted one of the Best Male Vocalists and Best Singer/Songwriters of 2023 by Cleveland Scene Magazine. Marcus Smith performs across the country with his live band The Rapscallions.
Dave Zup:
Dave Zup is a rapper, composer and record producer from Cleveland, OH. His experimentation in genres including Hip-Hop, Funk, and Pop has led to live performances with acts such as The New Respects and PJ Morton. Since the release of his first album in 2017 he has published several singles, produced for numerous artists, and composed original music for multiple films. His latest album, DUO, a collaborative project with rapper, Joey Aich, is available now.
Will Cherry:
Will Cherry is an artist and producer hailing from Cleveland, Ohio. His eclectic influences range from Marvin Gaye to Kanye West and everything in between, and while his music is rooted in hip-hop, he often dips into the sounds he was primarily raised on: Gospel and R&B. On his most recent album Somewhere in Ohio... Will pushes further into world-building, using a short film, an EP, several music videos, interviews and a docu-series to expound on the album’s themes of dream chasing, hometown pride and perseverance. The album has received praise from Vibe, Notion and a multitude of other platforms. Through booming production, sleek vocals and atypical arrangements, Will’s music is as unpredictable as it is infectious, and presents a unique perspective.
Out Past Midnight (Chicago):
Jay Post & Jimmi Gordon, Southside Chicago natives, first connected in high school through their shared love for poetry at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep. Jimmi, a multi-instrumentalist, and Jay, a poet from a young age, formed the duo OutPastMidnight in 2019. Before rapping, they made a name for themselves in the poetry scene, winning the Louder Than a Bomb competition. Their music blends experimental themes with rap, breaking boundaries and drawing from diverse influences.
Since their debut, they’ve performed at venues like Gman Tavern and Reggies Rock Club, and worked with organizations such as Social Works and the John Walt Foundation. With over 3,500 Spotify listeners and multiple projects under their belt, they’ve earned recognition with features at Lollapalooza and a premiere on HBO Max’s SouthSide. As part of the OPM collective, they’re dedicated to telling stories that resonate with Black and Brown youth, making a lasting impact on concert culture.
Whats His Face:
Whats His Face is a California-raised, Cleveland-based rapper, singer, and producer. Through thoughtful lyrics over carefully chosen or self-produced beats, or even live on an acoustic guitar; Whats His Face moves between vulnerable, self-reflective storytelling to raw metaphor-laden boombap.
