LIFE-REEXAMINED: MEMOIR
Sometimes we move through our lives at the world’s pace, instead of our own, neglecting taking space for a reexamination. Reexamination is deeper than reflection. It is holding our lives up to our own standards, formed by integrity, truth, compassion and forgiveness. Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”
Time moves us, pushing and pulling us, ready or not, towards the same end-death. Will our last breath be one of gratitude or dissatisfaction, saying” Wait, I’m not ready,” or “Thank you?”
Writing is one way of preparing an honest assessment of, hopefully, a life well lived.
Join me as we use writing as a way to re-examine and reflect on our lives, discovering how we have lived, and behaved and how to live forward with more compassion for ourselves and others.
Kierkegaard “ Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.”
