About the event
Life on the Allapattah Flats: Aboriginal Adaptations to Southern Florida Marshlands
Join us on Wednesday, June 18th at Lake Worth Beach Library at 5:30 pm as we hear from Jim Pete with Janus Research as we discuss the critical role of Cultural Resources in South Floridas rich history. Long before canals and other drainage projects altered the landscape and hydroperiods of southern Florida, various Native American groups lived and subsisted in marshlands such as the Allapattah Flats of interior Martin County. This presentation will summarize the findings of the previous and current archaeological studies of the Allapattah Flats.
