The Core Ensemble (cello, piano, percussion, and actor) will present the music theater work entitled "Equally Divine - The Real Story of the Mona Lisa." The show celebrates the genius of Leonardo daVinci and explores the possibility that the model for Mona Lisa was a young man, an apprentice and lover of Leonardo. Actor Karmen Paley portrays both Lisa Gherardini (Mona Lisa) and Leonardo daVinci.
The show celebrates gay history not as marginal and closed, but central and important in Western culture. The score includes Italian music from the time of Leonardo and words by 20th Century composers.
There are two performances...Friday, May 30th at 7:00pm and Sunday, June 1st at 2:00pm
The performances are free and open to all. A love offering will benefit Compass Community Center.
