This event is a 50k on the Glacial Drumlin State Trail, starting at the Rotary Park in Lake Mills and turning around at the Western terminus of the Glacial Drumlin in Cottage Grove. This section of the Glacial Drumlin State Trail is a flat crushed gravel trail. Shoe gaiters are highly recommended!
On this hopefully Brrr-ish December night, it’s a given time to test that Golden tool belt. The only aid station will be at the turn around point, so 15.5ish sMiles. There will be one drop bag located at approximately mile 8 & 23. The drop bags will be shuttled over for you, then back to the finish.
There is no outside help, crew or pacers allowed. It’s to the turn around and back, handled mostly Soulo. Mandatory gear checks (reflective vests and a rear facing red blinking safety light) will be done. Then runners will be checked in and out at the turnaround.
Warm food, volunteers and cheers will be at the turnaround to fill you back up and send you on your way.
This race has an 8-hour cutoff and hard cutoff at 11pm at the turnaround.
It’s Quiet out and Silence on the way back. 💤💤💤Obviously not total silence, just a gentle way for us to remember to be respectful of the sleeping communities we are traveling through late at night and into the early morning 🥱😴💤💤💤.
Registration opens to the public on 12/10/24
