About the event

Seeds ‘n Scything at Skokie River Nature Preserve

Monica will host.

We have two activities planned for this Saturday:

First, we'll collect a variety of ripe seeds in McLaughlin Meadow, a rich savanna.

After snack break, we'll scythe briars, tall goldenrod and sawtooth sunflower in Shaw Woods where it's nice and shady.

Meet at the parking lot on Laurel Ave. Scythes and gloves are provided, or bring your own. It may be damp, so wear shoes that can get muddy or dirty. Bring water to stay hydrated and wear bug repellent on pant legs to protect against ticks.
