The Laconia Putnam Fund is proud to present a concert of Brass and Bells on Friday, June 20th at 7 pm at the Living Hope Church in Laconia.
This Concert, “From Sea to Shining Sea” is a musical travelogue that evokes the geography, beauty, vastness and love of this country we call home, and features the Granite State Ringers of Concord under the direction of Joan Fossum and The Carter Mountain Brass Band, our local Lakes Region Brass Band, under the direction of Debbi Gibson.
The Graite State Ringers perform on nine octaves of Malmark Bronze Handbells ranging from C3-G8, 3 aluminum bells (C2, F2, & G2) and 6 octaves of Malmark chimes ranging from C2-C8, using a variety of techniques including echoes, marting, malleting and singing bells.
Like the musical, “The Music Man”, the brass band will have cornets, trombones, baritones, euphoniums and tubas!!! And what better a combination of the bronze of the bells and the metal of brass joining together to produce a unique sound. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to see and hear music on these instruments “From Sea to Shining Sea.”
The Laconia Putnam Fund is a prominent non-profit organization in the city of Laconia. It has provided many cultural opportunities to the citizens of Laconia free of charge. This Concert is one of those opportunities. You won’t want to miss this delightful and exciting combination of bell and brass. See you there!!!
