My name is Angus and I’m a kite-a-holic.
I’m going to be attempting to set the Guinness World Record for the World’s Longest Individual Kite Fly - a minimum of 24 hours - with no breaks or sleep (and hopefully plenty of wind!)
At the same time, I’ll be raising money for humanitarian organisations working in and around Myanmar, where I used to live and which is still dear to my heart ❤️
The attempt itself will take place in Port Fairy (due to its - hopefully - favourable wind conditions), BUT we’re having a ‘launch event’ here in Kyneton, from 1-4pm on the Labour Day public holiday Monday ☀️
There will be free kites for the kids to fly and take home, along with some more ‘serious’ kites for the bigger kids among us to try their hand at too!
We’ll have flying demonstrations and lessons for anyone who’s keen. Maybe you’ll even have a chance to fly the potential World Record Kite!
Bring an afternoon picnic along and join us on the lower football oval for an afternoon of family fun 🪁
Ps. Here’s the official Facebook page for the world record attempt if you’d like to learn more and follow along! We’ll be live streaming the attempt for those who are REALLY keen 😉
