Monarch Tagging and Butterfly Foray: Drop-In Program

**No registration required for this event

This will be an informal drop-in program led by Zoo Knoxville and the Tennessee Butterfly Monitoring Network. Stop by any time during the listed hours to ask questions, learn about monarch migration, and borrow a butterfly net to search for monarchs and other butterflies. If we catch any monarchs, we’ll place tiny tags on them to help scientists study their migration.

Please check the information board at the Bluebird Barn for our location in the park that day. Nets will be available to borrow. For everyone’s safety, please stay within sight of the station while catching butterflies.

Time: Drop in any time between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (last net checkout at 11:30 am)
Fee: Free!!
Ages: All ages welcome
Bring sturdy shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
