National Butterfly Day Program

Celebrate National Butterfly Day with us as we explore the colorful and fascinating world of butterflies! Participants will learn to identify butterflies, caterpillars, and the host plants they depend on for survival. If monarchs are found during the program, we’ll place tiny tags on them to contribute to ongoing migration research. This hands-on experience highlights the vital role butterflies play in ecosystems and how each of us can help conserve them.

This program is recommended for all ages. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 2:00 pm. Be prepared to walk 1–2 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. Butterfly nets will be provided (feel free to bring your own). Butterfly species and numbers vary from day to day, but no matter how many we see, participants will enjoy learning about these remarkable insects, their host plants, and their importance. The program will last approximately two hours.

The cost of this program is $6 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.

Please come prepared with sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
