Fall Break Kid's Monarch Tagging

Make the most of Fall Break with a hands-on adventure catching and tagging monarch butterflies! Kids will discover how monarchs migrate thousands of miles, learn why this journey is important, and help scientists by placing small tags on any monarchs we’re able to catch. This fun and educational program gives children a chance to experience real conservation work up close.

This program is recommended for children and their families. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 10:00 am. Be prepared to walk 1–2 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. Butterfly nets will be provided (feel free to bring your own). Monarch numbers vary from day to day, but no matter how many we see, kids will learn about butterflies, their importance, and how to help them. The program will last approximately two hours.

The cost of this program is $6 per child.

Please come prepared with sturdy walking shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
