In October threats of violence were made to the 2SLGBQTIA+ community, and while no specific incidents of harm followed these threats, they ignited significant discourse about how we keep each other safe within the community. Join Spectrum Waterloo Region, SHORE Centre, and Willow River Centre as we provide an overview of what happened from our perspective, and host a community conversation on how we can keep each other safe. The community conversation will be held featuring panelists Amy Smoke, Teneile Warren, and Kamil Ahmed.
We are open to hearing from the community! Submit your questions and thoughts for the panelists . Submissions will be reviewed and aggregated to try to address as many questions as possible in the time allotted.
Tickets for We Keep Each Other Safe: A Townhall on 2SLGBTQ+ Community Safety can be booked here.
