PARKING
Parking if you are RENTING A BOAT
Park at The Paddling Center lot as marked in Orange on the map included as a photo in this event.

Parking if you are BRINGING YOUR OWN BOAT: We are no longer allowed to park in the main lot. We need to use the overflow lot across the street at the Osceola County Welcome Center (marked in blue on the map on the photo). YOU CAN UNLOAD YOUR BOAT in the main lot then drive your car to the overflow lot. There is a walkway UNDER the street to get back to The Paddling Center (marked in yellow on the map on the photo). It's about a 5 minute walk. Please plan for extra time for this, so we can be on the water as soon as all the rental boats are brought out.

All experience levels are welcome on this trip! For experienced kayakers, we'll have a guide going a little faster and a little farther.
For brand-new kayakers or anyone that just wants to have a light paddle, we'll have a guide bring up the rear at a slower pace with a slightly shorter trip. Don't worry, we'll give you all needed instructions.
There is no way to get lost here, so you can go at your own pace and stay with the group or explore on your own.

What to bring:
Anything you need to be comfortable on the water
- A water bottle (I suggest a reusable water bottle, as they are less likely to fall out of the kayak and become litter)
- Wear clothes that can get wet. It's unlikely that you will fall out of your boat, but things can get really splashy.
- Wear water shoes rather than flipflops. It's unlikely that you'll need to get out of the boat, but occasionally, we need to pull boats over a downed tree in shallow water. Flip flops tend to get lost or sucked into sand/mud.
- A way to protect your phone, if you are going to use it for pictures on the water. Again, it's unlikely that you will be in a situation where your phone will be in the water, but better safe than sorry.
- Sunscreen, hat, sun shirt, bug spray, etc...
