What is Farm Camp?
A fun and educational camp of 12-16 animal loving friends who want to explore and discover farm life firsthand during the month of July. We will learn about animal handling care training, science, technology, art, kindness, social skills and more!
When?
You can choose Monday through Thursday or Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm
Where?
Blue Moon Stable at 103 Kirkland Ave. in Clinton.
Who will supervise the group?
Laura Pominville, owner and operator of Blue Moon Stable, 4th grade teacher, previously licensed veterinary technician, and professional horse trainer will be leading the club. Shelley McNichol, teacher’s assistant, will also be supervising.
How much does it cost? $285 for four days and $355 for five days. A $50 nonrefundable deposit will be taken when you sign up.
Ages?
8 and up (mature independent seven-year-olds might be accepted, contact Laura Pominville to discuss)
Will children be riding horses?
No, we do not have lesson horses at Blue Moon Stable but we will be learning about horses by handling, leading, brushing and grooming our retired horses and the miniature horses!
Will camp meet if it’s cold or wet?
Yes, we go outside a lot! We also have heat in our classroom and the horse barn usually stays above 50. Please dress for the weather.
What kinds of animals does Blue Moon Stable have? Miniature horses, horses, Nigerian dwarf goats & kids, Shetland sheep & lambs, beef cows, ducks & ducklings, chickens & chicks, turkeys, peafoul, rabbits & bunnies, guinea pigs, dogs, cats and kittens, and more!
How many children will be able to sign up?
At this time we will limit our camp to 16 students.
