Join us for our Mediterranean meze workshop where we will make a range of authentic small plates and then we’ll get together to eat our creations and discuss the recipes and flavours.
Meze are sharing plates of appetisers/snacks that are eaten in the company of family and friends. It’s a sociable occasion usually accompanied by cold drinks.
The meze we’ll prepare includes:
- Spanakopita – feta cheese and spinach pastries
- Tzatziki – creamy yoghurt with cucumber and garlic (dairy and vegan options)
- Tomato fritters
- Hummus
- Falafel
- Baba ghanoush – smoky baked aubergine dip
- Tabbouleh – salad of bulgur wheat and fresh herbs
- Grilled halloumi cheese with pomegranate molasses
- Ezme – spicy dip made with tomatoes and peppers
- Manakish Za’atar – pittas topped with an aromatic spice mix
We’ll serve this alongside some olives and flatbreads to complete the meze experience.
Our workshops are fun and informal, our tutor will support you to prepare the recipes. We’ll chat about the relaxed Mediterranean way of eating, discuss how to prepare a meze table and what to include.
All recipes are easily adaptable for vegetarians. Please note wheat and dairy will be used in the workshop. Please let us know of any dietary requirements while booking.
The course is suitable for beginners and people with some experience interested in trying out something new.
