The British Inline Marathon Championships is the final event of the 2024/2025 season (which runs from October to September). As one of the Big Three (along with the British Indoor Championships and the British Outdoor Track Championships), the British Inline Marathon Championships represents the pinnacle of the sport and is the premier skating endurance event in the UK. This event serves a dual purpose: it is both a British National Championship for Federation Members (the “elite”) and the final event of the Road Race Series for all skaters.
This year, the event moves to Mallory Park Racing Circuit for the first time. An iconic motor sport venue nestled in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside, Mallory Park has a rich racing heritage and an adrenaline-fuelled future. Set among tranquil lakes and rolling hills, Mallory Park’s location also makes it a unique event venue, with a lake in the middle of the circuit. The venue has hosted all major motor racing formulae to be contested in post-war England – European Formula Two Championship, British Formula One, European Formula 5000, Formula Ford 1600, British Formula Three Championship. The British Superbike Championship was last hosted at Mallory in the 2010 season. The likes of Ayrton Senna, Lewis Hamilton, Jackie Stewart, James Hunt, Jim Clark, Damon Hill, Martin Brundle, to name but a few, have driven at the circuit in some capacity. This is your chance to skate where these racing legends once drove. There is an on site diner and bar providing food, hot and cold drinks and refreshments.
Open to all skaters, the event consists of a 100m sprint tournament followed by the main event, the British Inline Marathon. Skaters compete in their national age groups. As this is a National Level Event and the final instalment of the Road Race Series, there are two entry options: FISS Members/Championship (those competing for the British Championship titles) and Open (non-Members not competing for the Championship). Race times will be determined by an electronic chip timing system. A digital certificate featuring the finish time for the endurance race will be issued to all participants via email. This is the final opportunity to earn points towards the road and 100m series (all skaters) and Absolute Champion (for FISS Members), with the winners of each determined at this event.
