Join us on Saturday, July 12 for a meaningful morning on the water at the MacLachlan Museum!
Educator and paddleboarder Natasha Darling (Mohawk, Tyendinaga) leads this hands-on workshop exploring the sacred connection between people and water through both traditional Indigenous teachings and freshwater science.
We’ll start by testing local water samples using Water Rangers kits—checking pH, temperature, conductivity, and more—then head out on paddleboards to explore the bay. As we paddle, Natasha will guide us in watching for turtles, swans, and herons, and will share Mohawk words and stories that deepen our relationship to the water and the life it sustains.
This program is part of the Ohné:ka Healing Project, developed through the Indigenous Arts Collective to reconnect communities with water through art, science, and language.
💧 Space is limited to 10 spots. A $10 deposit is required and refunded after participation.
All gear provided. No paddleboarding experience needed.
Open to all ages. Children may share a board with a parent.
