Enjoy your favourite films under the stars! Our final Movies in the Square feature is the breathtaking 3-time Oscar nominee The Wild Robot!
With the voices of Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, and Kit Connor, this animated adventure tells the story of Roz, a robot shipwrecked on a remote island. As she learns to adapt to the wild, Roz forms an unlikely bond with the island’s animals and takes a baby goose under her care. Heartwarming, visually stunning, and unforgettable.
Join us on Thursday, August 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for an evening of exciting, hands-on robotics activities before the movie:
- Robotics Demo with the Boys and Girls Club of Kingston & Area STEM & Robotics Centre: experience hands-on robotics through interactive demonstrations featuring Dash and LEGO SPIKE robots, designed to engage younger participants. Using tablets, kids will guide the robots through exciting challenges and obstacle courses, learning as you play. They will also have a robot built by a local High School Competitive Robotics Team called Machine Mavericks, weighing almost 50kg and standing at around 5 ft tall, able to complete elaborate tasks and managed with video game controllers!
Bring a lawn chair and a few dollars for popcorn, cotton candy, and drinks at the concession stand.
The movie will begin after dusk when the screen is visible. It does not have a specific start time.
