Lois Creek Trails AGM October 29, 2025

Everyone is welcome to attend the Friends of Lois Creek Annual General Meeting at 7 pm on Wednesday Oct. 29 at Lindsay Park Elementary School in Townsite.

Participants will hear about Canfor’s proposed logging plan in Lois Creek Trails and the impact to date on trails near the Elko Street Entrance by the ongoing Fernie Street Housing Development. There will also be updates on recent trail improvements, a proposed microhome development above the Centennial Entrance, remediation work by Wildsight at their culvert removal project on the Powerline Trail, and results of the firewood salvage program.

Lois Creek Trails is named after the daughter of Harry Gamble, general foreman of Cominco in the early 1900s. Lois died in the 1918 pandemic, but her name lives on in the provincially recognized trail system within Recreation Sites and Trails BC now cooperatively managed by the Kimberley Trails Society and the Friends of Lois Creek.
