'It's Not The Bait, It's The Bite That Matters!'

In dealing with the warfare of the mind it’s more often the ‘bite’ that gets us more than the ‘bait.’ Satan likes to ‘bait’ us with things that appear different than they actually are. Once we ‘bite’, his war is almost won. In studying the military strategies of some of the warriors of old, we can learn some of Satan’s strategies. In the military, they have Psy-ops (Psychological Operations), a form of warfare as old as the art of war itself. Alexander the Great was great with ‘Psy-ops’. On one occasion when his army was in full retreat from a larger army, he gave orders to his armorers to construct oversized breastplates and helmets that would fit men 7 or 8 feet tall. As his army retreated, he would leave these items for the pursuing army to discover. When the army of the enemy found the oversized gear, they’d be demoralized by the thought of fighting such giant soldiers, and they would abandon their pursuit. In this Satan likes to play head games with us, too, the ‘bait’; often leaving us demoralized by fear or doubt the result of the ‘bite’. We assume Satan is bigger or greater than he really is. And the quickest way to thwart our Enemy’s psy-ops is to gaze upon the greatness of our God. Join us as Pastor Tim continues our series teaching us to overcome the battle for out mind.
