About the star of the trip; Becky Davies:
Becky grew up singing.
One of her earliest memories is singing carols at the top of her voice in chapel aged two.
She was a junior exhibitioner at the Royal College of Music in London throughout her childhood studying under Vaughan Meakins, and then went on to sing with Clare and Gonville and Caius College choirs at Cambridge.
She sang with the National Youth Choir and performed opera with the National Youth Music Theatre and often sang as a treble on Radio 3 choral evensong.
Beckky later studied early music under Andrew Wilson-Dickson and Lis Priday at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama having won a scholarship from the Worshipful Company of Musicians.
However, Becky’s real passion is for beautiful folk music. She is currently the Village Bard in Glan-Y-Fferi, Carmarthenshire and combines breathing life into traditional tunes with writing her own folk music and songs based on the landscapes of Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
She is an accomplished pianist and a self-taught harpist and is sometimes found accompanying herself on both instruments, although she also loves to sing a cappella.
