AGONY is a body of paintings developed over the past two years, reflecting on themes of struggle, belief, and the everyday weight of being human. Referencing biblical narratives, the exhibition explores the tension between myth and lived experience. Quiet, internal moments where doubt, pain, and reflection converge.
Through the interplay of the figure, landscape, and the screen, Mathew constructs a poetic and uneasy space, part dream, part memory, part questioning; a canvas where meaning flickers and consciousness dissolves.
