ATTENTION : Memberships are now due. If you didn't sign up at the June event you will need to sign up BEFORE you ride your horse on the grounds this weekend. PLEASE READ THAT AGAIN.
Membership forms will be available on Face Book, on our website mnctpa.weebly.com or on the day at the sign in desk. You can print out and fill out your forms prior to the event and hand them in with your payment at the sign in desk on Saturday or Sunday, or fill one in on the day. Membership is still $25 for the full year, therefore we do not do Day Memberships (that were $20 a day). We are affiliated with Team Penning Australia and our insurance is done through them, so basically you are only paying for insurance. This is a very economical arrangement and we are fortunate that TPA has negotiated such good rates for us.
CANTEEN WILL BE AVAILABLE BOTH DAYS - provided by the dedicated volunteers from the Eungai Primary School P & C committee, so eat up and help support a great cause!!
SATURDAY - Practice / Come and try afternoon. 12 - 3 pm.
COST - $25 per rider including cattle levy.
11.30 am sign on and Membership.
Practice will be based on Arena Sorting but we will be flexible to accommodate for horse & rider needs on the day. No cattle experience necessary, we will have volunteers to help coach if needed. Come along and give it a go!!
SUNDAY - Team Penning & AGM - 9am sign on for 10am start.
Classes will be Youth, Hat Draw, Open 1 and Open 2. 3 runs per rider per class. Youth ride free in the Youth class. All other classes are $10 per rider per run. $5 cattle levy per adult rider for the day. Ribbons and prize money as per usual. Come along and have a fun day out with your horse!
AGM - To be held at lunch time on Sunday. All positions will be declared vacant. Nominations will be taken from the floor. If you are not going to be there and would like to nominate for a position, please email your nomination to
bW5jdHBhIHwgb3V0bG9vayAhIGNvbQ== We have nominations for President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. We need nominations for a Membership Registrar and nominations for any of the positions will be welcomed. We also need two Team Penning Australia Delegates, not much time required to fill this role, so don't be afraid to put your hand up!
DRESS CODE REMINDER : All riders must wear - Riding boots, riding pants or jeans, collared shirt (long or short sleeved), cap, hat or Helmet (compulsory for 17 years and under riders). Note that short sleeve shirts and caps are only allowed at our regular club days, if you go to title events, long sleeves and full brim hats are compulsory (or helmets).
EQUIPMENT : Please check your saddlery and tack for soundness, ie stirrup leathers, girth points, surcingle's and girths. Running rings are acceptable as long as your reins are split, not joined. Tie downs, head checks, whips and crops are not allowed in the arena.
ANIMAL WELFARE : Rough handling or abuse of horses or cattle will not be tolerated in the arena or on the grounds. For more information, see the Team Penning Australia website for Animal welfare and safety policies.
SAFETY : A fall from your horse ends the run, all riders must stop. Riders will remain mounted at all time when in the arena. If you drop your hat please ask the judge before dismounting to retrieve it. The judge is responsible for your safety while you are in the arena, so please follow all instructions given by the judge. For Team Penning, no rider is to ride into the Pen as the panels are basically unsupported and whilst highly unlikely to collapse on you and your horse it can happen!
MORE INFORMATION : The Team Penning Australia website has all the Rules for Team Penning and Arena Sorting. If you haven't done either, we highly recommend downloading and reading the rules. If you have any questions our volunteers will be able to help you out.
