Kechi Playhouse’s third play in their 43rd year is the Shakespearean comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. This production marks the first Shakespeare play to grace the Playhouse stage.
Set in Messina, Italy, the action revolves around two romantic plots: the budding love between heroic Claudio and innocent Hero, and the witty, adversarial relationship between confirmed bachelor Benedict and spinster Beatrice. Villainous Don John tries to sabotage the marriage of Claudio and Hero, leading to public humiliation. Meanwhile, friends conspire to trick Benedick and Beatrice into falling in love.
The cast includes the talents of Ben Smith, Nick Drier, Joseph Ross, Erin Polewski, Shannon Ciccarello, Kelsi Harris, Anthony Valdez, Matt Neises, Robert Brining, Sky Duncan, Richard Shultz, Braden LaBrue-Layman, Mia Dennett, and Emily Redfield. The production team features Direction by Misty Maynard, costumes by the cast and crew, set by Richard Shultz, and scenic painting by Storme Maynard.
