Ši tarpdisciplininė konferencija – netradicinis ir vienas svarbiausių šių metų renginių, kurio tikslas – suprasti sudėtingas technologijas.
„Human and More-Than-Human Futures: Innovating Technologies for Coexistence“ suburs bendram dialogui apie technologinių transformacijų iššūkius, pakviesdama lyderiaujančio pasaulyje Masačusetso technologijos instituto (JAV) bei Lietuvos mokslininkus, verslo ir pramonės atstovus. Kartu jie aptars aktualiausius šių dienų klausimus, susijusius su kvantinėmis technologijomis, atspariais miestais, energetika, biotechnologijomis, švietimu ir kitomis sritimis.
Dalyviai dalinsis žiniomis ir ieškos būdų, kaip sukurti geresnę ateitį, kurioje žmonės, technologijos ir gamta veiktų darniai.
Pagrindinis dėmesys bus skiriamas dabarties analizei bei bendradarbiaujančios ateities vizijų kūrimui, naujoms idėjoms, kaip pereiti nuo tiesiog išmaniųjų technologijų prie sistemų, kurios yra jutiminės ir geba mokytis pačios. Kitaip tariant, bus ieškoma būdų, kaip kurti technologijas, kurios ne tik paklūsta komandoms, bet ir prisitaiko prie žmogaus, atsižvelgdamos į aplinką, išlaikant žmogų svarbiausiu kūrėju ir vartotoju.
Pasaulyje, kuriame gyvename susiskaidymo, vis spartėjančių technologinių pokyčių ir perversmų sąlygomis, išlieka esminis žmogaus troškimas siekti stabilumo neapibrėžtumo akivaizdoje. Nors nerimas dėl ateities verčia mus ieškoti aiškių individualių gairių, tikroji pažanga slypi kolektyviniame atsparių kelių kūrime, o ne griežtame laikymesi iš anksto nustatytų krypčių ar atsakymų.
Konferencijai kelią atvėrė istorinė, išskirtines galimybes mūsų šaliai suteikianti sutartis tarp MIT Tarptautinių ryšių departamento ir dvylikos Lietuvos mokslo bei verslo partnerių.

This interdisciplinary conference is an unconventional and one of the most important events of the year whose goal is to understand complex technologies.
Human and More-Than-Human Futures: Innovating Technologies for Coexistence will bring together Lithuanian and MIT scientists, as well as representatives from Lithuanian business and industry, to discuss the challenges of technological transformations. The discussions will cover today’s most relevant issues associated with quantum technologies, resilient cities, energy, biotechnology, education, and other fields.
Participants will share knowledge and explore ways to create a better future in which people, technology, and nature coexist harmoniously.
The main focus will be on new ideas for transitioning from merely smart technologies to systems that are sensory and self-learning. In other words, methods will be sought on how to develop technologies that not only follow commands but also adapt to humans and consider their environment, with humans still remaining the key creators and users.
In the world we live in, under the conditions of rapidly increasing technological transformations and upheavals, what remains essential is the human pursuit of stability in the face of uncertainty. Even though anxiety about the future forces us to seek clear individual guidelines, real progress lies in the collective development of resilient paths, rather than in strict adherence to pre-determined directions or responses.
The conference is organized by the Consortium of 12 major Lithuanian universities, research centers, and companies, coordinated by Vytautas Magnus University (VMU). The event has been made possible by an agreement with MIT’s Center for International Studies and MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives (MISTI).
