Some glimpse of Chokte Narayan Jatra at Hadigaun !
Hadigaun jatra, also popularly known as a jatra celebrated nowhere else, is an annual celebration celebrated on the day after Kojragat Purnima. It is an perfect example of ancient engineering and architecture with a unique way of making such chariot !
The unique things of this jatra are :
1. The gods are placed on top of the chariot whereas pinnacles are below it.
2. The chariot/ Palanquin has got a unique physical appearance which is nowhere to be found.
3. This unique chariot/ palanquin can be rotated which is more unique in itself and is only of its kind.
4. The wax flowers are prepared here for these chariots which is done no where else.
Hence, this Jatra is also known as "Kahi Navayeko Jatra" which refers to a celebration that is no where else !
